Privacy Policy
Last updated September 16, 2026
1. Scope of this Policy
Pick City Sports (the “Service”) is the mobile application of Pick City Football, a football pick’em website operated for private leagues. This Privacy Policy describes the information that the Service collects, the purposes for which that information is used, the parties to whom it is disclosed, and the means by which a member may have it removed.
2. Information collected
- Account information: a username, an email address, and a telephone number if one is provided.
- Participation: entries, picks, and the standings that are computed from them.
- Submitted content: message board posts, league memos, and any images contained within them.
- A profile picture, if one is uploaded.
- Preferences: time zone, display preferences, and notification settings.
- Authentication records: the date and time of an attempt to sign in, the username submitted, and the network address from which it originated, retained in order to protect accounts against unauthorized access.
- Notification identifiers: an identifier for each browser, and for each mobile device, on which notifications have been requested.
3. Use of information
The information described above is used to operate the leagues in which a member participates, to compute and display standings, to deliver the notifications that a member has requested, to verify an email address, to protect accounts against unauthorized access, and to communicate with a member concerning that member’s account.
4. Disclosure of information
- Other members of a league are shown that member’s username, entry names, picks once those picks have locked, standings, posts, and profile picture.
- The hosting and database provider stores all of the information described above on behalf of the Service.
- The email provider delivers account correspondence, and the notifications that a member has requested.
- Expo, Apple, and Google deliver push notifications to a member’s devices, and receive the text of the notification, and the device identifier to which it is addressed.
- Anthropic generates the weekly summaries. It receives statistical information only. Entries and members are identified by neutral labels, such as “Entry 7”, and the corresponding names are restored by the Service before a summary is stored or displayed. No member’s name, username, or email address is transmitted for this purpose.
Information is not sold, is not disclosed for advertising purposes, and is not used to track members across other applications or websites.
5. Retention
Account information is retained for as long as the account exists. An account that does not confirm its email address is removed automatically after a period of inactivity. Authentication records are retained only for so long as they remain useful for the protection of accounts.
6. Deletion of an account
A member may delete an account at any time, either from Settings within the application, or at /account/delete-account.php on the website. Deletion removes the sign-in credentials, the email address, the telephone number, the profile picture, the notification settings, the notification identifiers, and the posts that the member has written, together with the images contained in them.
Picks and standings are retained in each league under the name “Deleted member”. The results of a league are a shared record, in that the ranks, the points, and the comparisons of every other member are computed from every entry in that league; the removal of one member’s entries would therefore alter the recorded seasons of others. A topic to which other members have replied is likewise retained, with the deleting member’s name removed from it.
7. Security
Passwords are stored only as cryptographic hashes, and the tokens by which the application remains signed in are stored only as hashes. Information is transmitted over encrypted connections. No method of storage or of transmission is entirely secure, and no absolute guarantee of security can be given.
8. Children
The Service is not directed to children under thirteen years of age, and accounts are not knowingly created for them. If information concerning a child under thirteen has been collected, a parent or guardian may request its removal through the contact page, and it will be deleted.
9. Amendment of this Policy
This Policy may be amended from time to time. The date stated at the head of this page indicates when it was last amended.
10. Contact
Questions concerning this Policy, or concerning the information held about a member, may be submitted through the contact page.
